The Story of DuePay
DuePay was born from a simple observation: New Zealand’s small businesses and consumers deserve a modern, affordable payment solution that doesn’t rely on expensive hardware or complex banking processes.
While the rest of the world embraced QR code payments and mobile wallets, New Zealand continued to depend heavily on traditional EFTPOS systems and cash. We saw an opportunity to bridge this gap.
Founded in 2026 by leading Banking and Payments industry experts in New Zealand, DuePay is set out to create a digital payment platform built specifically for New Zealand — one that understands the unique needs of Kiwi businesses and consumers, from the bustling cafés of Auckland and Wellington to the farmers’ markets of Queenstown.
DuePay strives to become a fintech platform that enables instant peer-to-peer payments via QR code or mobile number, and provides businesses with a low-cost alternative to traditional payment terminals across Aotearoa.
